Hi All

New to here and have a strange 1 !

Installed Ideal Classic HE15FF.

When conducting flue analysis we are getting a negative CO reading which obviously throws the ratio - However with the casing removed readings are very normal, i.e CO circa 30ppm ratio .0004.

Telagan Sprint V3 - 6 months old - Have tested on wb greenstar today readings fine.

Any ideas guys?

Any Suggestions Boys n Girlz

Nope, not come across this before :?

I take it you are using the correct sampling point if you have a choice?

Yes Dave - Sampling point on top right hand side of boiler - Also checked from flue - readings are similar.

Confusing thing is; if sample is taken with front removed readings fine !!! checked seals around heat ex and fan etc all ok - boiler is new.

Even Ideal Tech baffled - Ideal Engineer coming out tomorrow.

Cheers mate

Is the flue temperature higher with the cover on?

I have seen this before, possible due to NO and /or NO2 in flue sample, usually in higher temperature appliances.

NO = Nitric Oxide
NO2 = Nitrogen dioxide
Also referred too, for both gases, as NOx

The V4 and the V5 with bluetooth will give a direct NOx reading.

I can update the firmware to version 2.05 on your analyser to compensate for the NOx readings. When you start the instrument up, at the bottom it will show the firmware version, it is proberbly 2.04

I'll have to have a look at logs mate.

Do know that ideal have come up with some strange stuff to reduce NOX i.e, in side exit classics they leave a hole in the flue (Inside boiler) to reduce NOX emmisions from the appliance.

Must say, didnt notice any thing out of the ordinary regarding flue temp but will take a look at logs later and post. I did take a record of both (Casing on and off).

Mines a V2 - Will get firmware version for you later.

Cheers again for intersting response.
