ignition lockout

hello everyone
I am having a problem with my worcester combi boiler ( don t remember the number, sorry). it started 3 days ago during the night. it seems the
flame does not come back on by itself.there is a light flashing undernaeth the central heating sign. the hot water does not start when I use it. I have to press a small red button until the light does not flash anymore to start the flame back on.Then I can get heating and hot water. but after maybe 20 minutes when the temperature of the rooms is high enough the boiler switches off and doesn t switch back on as the flame is gone.
I had the look at the notice of the boiler and it says that the flashing light means there is a ignition lockout. Any ideas what's causing it??
As well a 3 weeks ago a plumber came to clean the whole system with chemicals as boiler and pipes were blocked because of hard water. and the heat plate exchanger was changed as it was damaged as well by the hard water. Could this be a reason for my new problem.

We dont know exactly which model you have yet.

I suspect that the ignition lockout might also be activated by an over temperature situation and I wonder if this system cleaning has not disturbed some calcium compounds which have caused a partial blockage.

However these are only guesses without knowing the boiler model and also ideall exactly what this plumber did and what chemicals he used.

The usual thing would be to call him back!

If lockout happens during heating, the plate exchanger would be the last option. Could be need for service, failing fan, aps, or overheating due to blockage or failing pump.
