IKEA sink waste

A friend of mine has had 2 ikea sinks fitted and is complaining of a sewage type smell from both sinks, I've looked at the wastes and could not see a u trap to prevent the smells coming back into the kitchen, any ideas would be great, thanks

erm .......... fit a trap?!

And don't pay whichever idiot fitted them with no traps!
