I have two electric showers (cold mains) and they are starved of water when water is drawn off elsewhere (NB. flow to bathroom taps is reduced when kitchen taps opened etc. but this is not a big problem unlike having a shower). Would fitting isolating valves to all non-shower outlets and partially closing them to restrict the flow be a suitable potch to avoid water starved showers? (Combi boiler, so hot also via mains).

You should be thinking of increasing your mains supply.
