I've got to connect to some old 1/2 inch copper pipes. Is there enough clearance in the 15mm speedfit type connectors, or have I got to find some 1/2 inch olives from somewhere? Or any other way?

Never tried this with 15mm speedfit. It may work as there is very little difference in 1/2" to 15mm. !/2" is marginally bigger, but all end feed fittings of 15mm fit the 1/2 " pipe, although a little tight.
