Installation of an electric shower

My shower was old and battered, having no electrical experience i thought i'd pop down to wickes and buy a new shower On return i turned the water and electric off and began to remove the old unit. On connection of the new unit, all that remained was to connect the wires to the unit . I grabbed the live wire BZZZZZZZ and recieved the biggest shock I have ever had I soon realised that the shower was on a seperate circuit

Just goes to prove how invaluable one of these can really be.

First rule when working on electrical equipment, Ensure circuit is DEAD before disconnecting any cables

I repaced my electic shower the other week. I got in a spaky for the job tho as I wont touch electics on principal (principal being that I might die).

Water, painting, plastering etc: bring it on.

Worst that can happen is that you get a bit wet or your work looks poo.

Screw up electrics and you can get very dry, very quickly!!
