Just a quick question, at the moment i have a worcester bosch junior combi 28i with a danfoss randall electronic digi stat (it looks like a TP9 model) which i would like to swap for the Worcester bosch MT 10 Mechanical clock and a normal thermostat.

A. Is this a job that i could do myself or do i need to get the installer back.

B. Are roomstats fairly generic or are there any ones to avoid/recommend.

Many thanks for your help!!

Have a good weekend!

I'm looking into getting a Worcester-Bosch combi at the moment, so have been checking out the timers and room stats too.

These timers seem to just slot in to the control panel on the current models - is your's the same ? If so, I would imagine that installation should be fairly straight forward. You can download the manuals, including installation instructions, from the WB website.

I've fitted a couple of different room stats in the past and had no problem with either - you just need to pay attention to the wiring diagrams and seek help if they don't make sense.

WB do a wireless room stat which might be worth paying extra for if you don't fancy the wiring.

As to whether you're technically allowed to fit either yourself I'm not sure, although as the job doesn't involve gas directly, I would hope that the definition of 'competent person' doesn't necessarily prohibit anyone who isn't Corgi registered. I'm sure some of the pro guys on here will be able to advise on that.

Thanks for the reply! im gonna download the instructions in a bit and have a look through, hopefully it will just plug in and not be too complicated.

I can strongly recommend the worcester bosch junior greenstars I had the 24i in my last house and have got a 28i this time round as the hot water flow is much better as you cant really run a good shower off the 24i. You also get the 5 year warrenty if installed by an aproved installer.
