Hi,
im going to be upgrading my mixer shower by adding a pump to it. I have a vented cylinder and im under the impression that I can add a pump to it to improve the performance.
I have a couple of questions based on what this mornings three plumbers have said....and id really appreciate a second opinion....
1) one plumber suggested putting the pump in the loft space..therefore above the cylinder but below the cold water storage tank. Is this ok or does it have to be lower than the outlet of the cylinder for it to work properly?
2)my hot water is heated by the coil from the central heating, but i also have an immersion element that I have never used....Rather than having to run a new cable for the pump can the plumber just decommission the element and run the pump from that switch?
3) the plumber that seemed the most trustworthy said I need someone with at least part p defined qualification to do this installation....does this mean I should expect some paperwork or something after completion?
4)Finally my cylinder is really quite small...Is adding a pump likely to empty it quicker than I and my girlfriend can shower? (bit vague I know, but just a rough idea would be good)
Thanks loads for any advice you can give me, its really appreciated....
