Having recently purchased a property, looking to install under-carpet heating. The rooms already have wall-to-wall carpet fitted. It's quite new and would like to re-use the existing carpet if possible, rather than needlessly replacing it.

Is this possible? Can the existing fitted carpet be lifted in such a way that it can simply be reinstalled afterwards?

Do you really mean under-carpet heating ?

I have never heard of this and only know of heating that is installed beneath a rigid, heat-dispersing surface such as tiles or (engineered) wood.

Ignoring the fact that carpet is a reasonable insulation-material and there are recommendations about tog values of carpets used over UFH.
