We are about to buy a bungalow that has been extended into the roof to create some bedrooms. The plasterwork isn't too good and lots has been artexed which has to go. While I can access parts of the roof space there is plenty that I cannot get into and the owners have said several times that the rooms get very hot in summer and cold in winter so I assume there is not much insulation.
There is loads of head height and space so I am wondering about fixing plasterboard backed celotex or whatever to the room-side and just leaving the existing plaster in place.
Does this sound like a good idea, and do I need to put some sort of vapour barrier in ?
Any thoughts ?
Thanks in advance !
