insulation question

I want to insulate my ground floor kitchen / diner, I have some 100mm and some 170mm glass mineral wool, I plan to net the underside of the joists which are 150mm

should I stick the 170mm in and compress it with the flooring so it's all tight or use the 100mm and leave a 50mm gap between the insulation and the flooring?

I would fit the 170mm with no gap

Yep definitely no gap between insulation and boards.
