An interior door in our house has started closing itself. we have had a floor put down in the room it opens into, and the bloke who put the flooring down, has taken the door off to fit the floor, then put it back on, but now the door swings closed on its own, it fits and closes ok, but its a bit annoying that it closes on its won, is their a quick fix for this..............

that was the wifes solution  , but seriousley is there a quick fix, as it was ok before the bloke took it off,

Not sure on a quick fix, I'm just a sparkie who knows his way around the screw fix book!

Those chrome door wedges are nice though :D

probably the hinges have not been refitted in perfect alignment.

If (like me) you are a clumsy bungler, every time you take a door off, the hinges go back slightly different to how they were before.

I expect the proper joiners know how to do it properly.

Maybe he has fitted rising butts so you dont have a huge gap when the door is closed but it will allow for your out of level floor ? Ok a bit beyond what a floor fitter would do but at least you now comply with fire regs :D

As John says the hinges have not been put back in the same place.
Most probally the top hinge is packed out a bit more than the bottom hinge causing it to close on its own.
