I posted before, but couldn't really get to the bottom of the issue!

We have a gravity fed shower in our en-suite and recently changed it when we had the en-suite renewed. We put a mixer tap on the shower but after using it a few times, whenever we turn the mixer to hot, it stops working. Cold water is always fine, it's always the hot that's the problem. We took the tap apart and tried to free any air from the system which worked initially, but then the same thing happened again.

I had a pump installed in the attic just below the F&E tanks which initially solved the problem, but the exact same thing happened again!! I last used the shower 2 weeks ago and there was no hot water (the pump shuts down). I tried it today and everything ran as normal with no problems!

Any ideas??

need more info how the hots plumbing into the cylinder, pipe run etc.
have you a diagram ?

No sorry, I had a guy come and do the work for me. He's come back twice but can't seem to work out what's going on!

All I can say is that the pipes are 22mm and run from the attic down into the en-suite. We did not have any problems with the previous shower and the only difference now is that the mixer tap is 15mm, with a 15mm length of pipe behind the wall leading up to a monsoon shower head. The old shower was just a normal 'flexihose' type.

Sorry to be so vague!

A lot of mixer showers can be quite restrictive.
Measure (into a jug or something) how many litres per minute of water you get from the shower, for hot and cold seperately with the pump switched off.

It should say in your pump instructions how many lpm the flow switch needs to work properly.
If you don't have enough flow you may need a negative head pump.

What type of mixer is it? Is it a thermostatic one? Are the hot and cold plumbed in correctly?
