Hi folks, I'm new here and looking for some advice. There seems to be an inner lining which has been placed on to of the rafters in my loft which looks like Gyproc. Some of it is falling down inside my loft. I don't know what it is called or what to do with it. Can it be fixed without removing the whole roof? Does it need fixed? Problem is I'm going to be putting the house on the market soon. Will this hinder the sale?

I will try and post some pictures later if I can work out how to do it.

Any information much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like celotex sarkin board it's susceptible to moisture which weakens it's core.
It can be fixed back in place using tile batten fixed to the side of the rafters.

Thanks guys, yes looks like that's what it is. Some have fallen off completely. What can I replace them with.
