Hi everyone
I have just had a new boiler fitted and i think its way way over sized. I have 13 radiators in my home and after adding each of there KW rating i arrive at 13.5kw. Allowing 2kw for hotwater (indirect clyinder) my house requirement arrives at 15.5kw.

I also measured my rooms and using a boiler calculator arrive at a rating of 21.5kw.

Now i am no plumber/heating engineer but i would think a 18-25kw boiler set for 21.5kw would be ideal.

Why on earth has a 25-32kw Carmay utility been fitted?

Any advice would be greatly welcomed as i feel the boiler is short cycling.

That is the range rating of the Camray. It should be set to the minimum output upon commissioning.

I dont know about your measuring the rooms but the whole house method is usually best and seems quite accurate.

If your calculations are correct then the rad output is only about 70% of the power required. For most of the year thats not important but at the coldest times it will not be able to reach the target temperature of 21 degrees.

But you talk about all this as if you are a fly on the wall with no involvement in the situation. Perhaps you are a tenant or a council tenant and really are not involved?
