Is it possible for a faulty wire/bulb to trip the fusebox, even when the light switch for those wire/bulbs are off?

Is it possible for a faulty wire/bulb to trip the fusebox, even when the light switch for those wire/bulbs are off?

Yes. What is tripping in the fusebox? An MCB (probably marked B6) or an RCD (with a test button in addition to the switch)? Perhaps post a photo of the part that is tripping and explain exactly what the problem is and what you have done so far. Photos and detailed descriptions always help.
 
For an MCB to trip no, but for a RCD or RCBO to trip yes, an earth - neutral fault can still trip a RCD/RCBO as in the main switches only turn off the line, double pole switching of lights is rare.
