My house needs a number of new windows of varying sizes. Having read up about the subject the actual fitting doesn't look that difficult. However, since I don't have the kit ( scaffold, ladders etc ) to work at height and there is only one of me, I am considering buying the windows myself , B&Q or another local supplier, and paying a general builder to fit them providing I can find one able to do the work.

I know I will need to get the building regs checked by the council, but this still seems to be a much cheaper compromise than paying one of the big name companies to do it.

Any thoughts?

builders build, window companies fit windows.

i would suggest you find a good builder first and see what he says, you may ge no g'tee if you buy / fit them
