Is this plasterboard useable?

2400 x 1200 but one area is damaged as per photo.

can I still use this or should I just get another new sheet?

What will happen to the plasterboard on completion? Painted? skimmed? papered?

How about considering cutting out the damaged area only, not replacing the full panel?

Cut the damaged area carefully to the nearest vertical stud, make the cut in the middle of the vertical stud.

If there is a horizontal noggin near then a similar cut can be made.

Or? if you can introduce a "new" noggin just above the damaged area between the two vertical studs, this may? cut down the area of off cut needed,

Check the sizes of off cuts you have before making a repair?

Then using an off cut make the repair.

it’s a new panel I’m using to overboard some existing. It will be skimmed

take the loose out , neat pva the damaged area fill it out with plaster then pva that area again before skimming.
or cut it out
