I agree. The honours system, at least all but the highest ranking, is completely meaningless these days.
Should the time ever come, I'd accept only The Garter, The Thistle or The Bath. Anything less would be patronising.

Through her persistence (having been thrown into an awful situation), she has if nothing else shone the light on the appalling state of the Met. Police (who, let's not forget, are paid for by us, are meant to serve us, and are unaccountable to us).
She deserves recognition far more than some top brass at the above, who may well have dodged, fiddled, tampered, and lied, but "did their time, in the public service".
