Hello all!
I just moved into a new home and immediately realized there's something wrong with the underfloor heating. It’s a John Guest Speedfit system—fairly basic, I believe. When the thermostat calls for heat, the control box LED starts flashing rapidly and makes a clicking noise.
While this is happening (for a few minutes at most), the pump stays on and I can hear it working. Eventually, the clicking stops and the light on the box begins to fade slowly on and off, but the pump shuts down completely. The pipes around the pump get hot and the floor eventually gets 'warm-ish,' but it takes a full day to happen. Does this look familiar to anyone? Should I replace the control box? The system is supposedly about five years old.
Thank you.
