Hi

I recently (6 months ago!) bought my first house, tried to do everything right (full survey etc) but still haven't been able to move in because of all the problems with the place.

Anyway, latest issue…

The house has a single storey extension at the back which was the kitchen (and will be again when the new one goes in) but the floor level was lower than the original house so we took the boards up yesterday and found the joists are not connected on one side - the side that meets the house :?

The metal brackets (joist hangers?) are there but not connected to the brick wall which is the original back wall of the house.

Any ideas how to fix it in very simple steps appreciated :) Also would I be better to replace the actual joists at the same time?

Thanks.
