Hi guys
I'm fitting a 9.5kw shower to an old style c/u so I'll be using a 2 way shower c/u with an rcd as protection but my question is do I need to come off a suitably rated fuse in the old c/u and what if there isn't a spare or suitable one there?
Can I take the phase from the 'load' side of the main switch in the existing c/u, the neutral from the neutral bar and earth from the earth bar to run to the shower c/u?
I'm thinking this should be ok as the shower will still be protected by the rcd in the shower c/u?
If I'm wrong please tell me. :)
Cheers.

And you will need to notify your local authority BEFORE and work is done. They will want to inspect the work at various stages and charge you a fee for the privilege.

Thanks alot for the responses.
Just so I know, could you tell me why it's impractical and will not work?
It seems to me that in theory, I would still be connecting to the tails (as in the henley block method) but instead of connecting into them half way down with a Henley block, I would connecting onto the end of them where they connect to the main switch?
Thanks again.
