If I have the water in my house off for any period of time I sometimes get brown coloured water from the hot tap for a few seconds afterwards.

Is this normal?

I've also noticed the hot water is sometimes not as clear as the cold water.

I have boiler setup with no cold water tank and some kind of valve near the hot water tank if it's relevant.

Hot water often has tiny bubbles in it that make it look cloudy.

Dirty water may be indicative of a tiny leak. Or perhaps corrosion in your pipework.
