Evening all,

We had our boiler replaced a few months back as the old one was just knackered. The old system was replaced for a Worcester Bosch boiler which I am really happy with and the plumber stripped out all the old pipe work and tanks in the loft. In general, everything seems fine apart from the rad's upstairs although I know they are old and need replacing anyway.

My issue is this...we have just taken the ceiling down in the kitchen as it is going to be replaced and after the clean up I looked at the pipes in the void and something just didn't seem right. The pipe work in the airing cupboard has been joined and the flow connects straight back to the return while also t-ing off to the rads. There isn't a pressure relief valve anywhere on the system but one of the rads (hallway) is a straight pass through without any shutoff or TEV's.

You can see from the attached picture I have just knocked up that the pipe marked red is the one I am not sure about. The flow to the airing cupboard and this pipe are both 28mm and the others off to the rads are 22 and 15 where they need to be.

I'm new to the forum so can embed the link.

Think you must be mistaken. If your drawings right the rads wouldn't get hot as the flow would go straight back to the boiler if its 28mm pipe. You sure its not blanked somewhere ? The pressure relief will be inside the boiler. And the hall rad shouldn't have TRV's on if your room stat is in that room.
