You will recall there are very considerable concerns about the misuse by the Government of Innova lateral flow tests on which we have spent a total of £634m (that we know about).

There are two lateral flow tests that the World Health Organisation has approved, which cost $5 per test. £634m at £15 per test would buy you 43m tests. But we could have bought 43m of the WHO approved tests for £165m - saving £469m. Why did we not?


This has been a gravy train for those to the PM and Cabinet members.

Sadly people think they voted for this government for the people to "get back control", but what they actually did was give back control to the government who are using it to make themselves money.

Covid is a perfect example of the benefits of Brexit......chaos gives the opportunity for the rich and wealthy to make loads of money out of people misery.

Tory govt have used Covid legislation to remove competitive tendering and avoid scrutiny, enabling their corrupt deals.

Covid has been deliberately mismanaged.....because it's been driven by contracts to mates not best pandemic decision

There should be powers of scrutiny in place at all times (even if reduced in times of crisis) to prevent these blatant abuses.

The organisation who wants to bypass scrutiny should not be allowed to sweep it away. There should be an independent committee to deal with how the public purse is managed.

Fking disgrace. Why isn't chinless Starmer having a meltdown about this. If i was Kier i would insist on Boris demanding a full justification right there on why this financially inept path was taken with full transparency. I would repeat and hold the fkin house up, tell the speaker to do one until my question was answered in the name of an urgent taxpayers concern. So what if it creates a huge press flurry of sh't stirring excitement even better.

Agreed.

Even if it's only once a year, but they also need to be completely independent of government control, anyone found of abusing their power (contracts handed to pals) should be at the very least stripped of their titles and their position, and just possibly forced to pay the money back, especially if nothing has ever been delivered.

I think i saw it but the likes of Kier etc, our only hope, if he can't pull him up and hold him to account we have no chance. Its all good questioning but have some balls and pin him against the wall for an answer. It would boost his ratings beyond any stupid waffle political broadcast ever they just don't see it!
