Ive got a A701a mixer that I am currently refurbing due to a few things, I found the motor had dropped causing the blender drive gear not to engage properly, warm grease smell and also a hot/burning smell.

Ive got option to replace speed controller parts like for like or so an A901a triac upgrade instead, there is a DIY guide on how to wire the components in.
What are the benefits of the older resistor controller vs the triac, is it worth the upgrade?

Current parts list
- new felts
- anti vibration gasket
- motor mounts
- motor cap/resistor etc
- rubber feet
- drive belt
- mains lead
- gearbox regrease
