Hello,

I’ve got an issue with connecting two drain hoses, one from my washing machine and one from my new dishwasher. I’ve got an extended drain pipe but I’m struggling to fit both drain hoses in that pipe, do you have any advice of what fitting would be most appropriate?

mere picture for clarity:

Remember that appliance waste water is discharged under pressure.

You have a 40mm stand pipe reduced at the trap to 32mm - this might be causing you difficulties.
And the hose outlets might be snagging on each other causing water to be ejected.
You could also have insufficient venting due to stuffing the inlet of the stand pipe.

Waste hoses from appliances should run high & be clipped high before dropping into a stand pipe or double spigot trap.
Going into a stand pipe, hoses should go in about 100mm down the pipe using a "Drain Hose Hook" aka a U-bend.
Where spigot connections are made then its best/a must to secure the hose to the spigot with a Jubilee clip or two.
Same applies where a hose is extended with an extension fitting.
The stand pipe should be securely clipped in the vertical position.

That’s exactly the problem I’m facing, I don’t think the two drain hoses would work, already caused a water to be ejected when I tested it first. I can fix the pipe up before going down but I needed some sort of new pipe or some other fitting that will allow both hoses to be safely connected. The problem is I don’t know which fitting to use. Both appliances won’t be used at the same time.

Would something like this work?
