Thinking about redesigning our downstairs living area.

(1) addition of a single story extension
(2) knock through the external wall in the kitchen to create a large downstairs bedroom that leads into the new extension ( L Shaped)
(3) put new kitchen into conservatory

Question is - should there be any reason not to have a kitchen in a conservatory? you don't see many, i've searched online and cannot find any examples.

Won't it get extremely warm during the summer? Our conservatory get hot enough without putting electrical/gas appliances in.

YES, I know of one..and it works well. It`s been up 20 years or so .......nowadays you could install discreet air handling equipt. and solar reflective glass ;)

It's no longer called a conservatory but an extension - so building regs come into play.
