Kitchen wall unit coming away from wall

Sorry if this has been covered before, I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

Since I moved in, one kitchen cabinet has been hanging for dear life on the wall. As I'm looking to redecorate the kitchen. I took the cabinet off the wall to see what the fixing situation was and was met with this.

How best can I repair this to refix the cabinet. I think it's a dot and dab wall with very thin plaster board that appears to have broken under the cabinet weight.

Yes, Cabinet hanging rail.

Because it it long, you can use many screws, and it can bridge over cables, weak spots or other problems.

On a stud wall you can always put a screw into each stud.

I dislike D&D, but you can put a long screw that penetrates into the wall behind. The rail is very strong and will not pull through the board.

It makes it easy to line up the cabs and move them if needed

You need one good fixing at each end of the rail, and one near each point that a cabinet hanger will go.

Just beware of cables, water and gas pipes

You could cut out narrow section and screw in ply to depth of plasterboard, so all flush , which would allow it to hang correctly.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll go down the route of the rail, but will probably have to cut it in two, as this cabinet is two small ones screwed together. On closer inspection a total cowboy has hung these as that middle mount I dont think was doing anything.

No need. You can make a small clearance notch in the middles.
