I know next to nothing about plumbing so could really appreciate your help. I have the top floor floor flat in a two story converted house. Currently the kitchen waste runs down to an open drain that seems to have some kind of trap/s bend arrangement so that there is permanently water in it.
Is this a standard sort of set up or is this an inappropriate set up resulting from the conversion from a house to 2 flats?
