thanks map.
just a query. if i am going to do the above then what size cable should go from the spur to the fcu? is it 2.5 or 1.0 ?
As far as I remember, as spur wire has to be at least the size of the wire that it was spured of.

thanks albert.

you know what i mean ban.

the cables would not be into choc blocks if there was a socket face on the front instead of a blanking plate.

p.s now i give up!

I could make a reasonable guess at what you meant, but I prefer not to guess, if I can help it, as that can be dangerous.

But what gets me is that even when I explicity asked "Do you really mean a socket with a blanking plate over it, or do you mean that the socket has been removed, and a blanking plate fixed to the box in place of it?" you replied that yes, you really did mean a socket with a blanking plate over it.

At which point I lost all faith in your ability to describe things with any degree of correctness...

he meant socket backbox with blanking plate over it, and no socket front, but the language is unconventional. In any case, use 2.5mm unless you can guarentee the load will never exceed the rating of 1mm in all conditions. good parctice to use 2.5mm anyway - it is what is expected.
