Wondering if anyone can help me.

I moved in 2 years ago and have a Drayton LP241 fitted. In the whole time that I've lived here, I have not once had to turn the water on or put it on timed to create hot water. I have constantly had the water setting to off and I have constantly had hot water for 2 years but now I have hardly any unless I turn the timer on etc and there is a lack of pressure now coming through the shower.

Also when I set the water setting to on, the radiators come on for about the first 10 minutes and then go off.

A friend off mine told me that he thought that it may have a built in timer that is set at the factory and will come on each night for an hour or so and that this might have failed which has resulted in the water in the tank going cold.

Does anyone know what the problem might be or have any ideas.

Thanks

have you one of these in your airing cupboard ?

sounds like its playing up and sticking.

what type of shower is it ?
the pressure from the shower will be another issue.

Got something that looks abit similar, a Drayton Mid Position Actuator. The whole system was only installed 2 and half years ago and we've never had to touch the hot water, it's always been constant but now we have to have it on a couple of hours a day to get any hot water.

The shower is electirc and was installed at the same time as the heating and water system.

Thanks

look on the side of the drayton valve their is a indicator that points
to what is being called for W M H.

thats right you have to put the programmer on for hw.
the electric shower runs straight from the mains and will be another problem.

There is no indicator on the drayton and no W M or H markings.

We have not had to put the programmer on since we moved in, it's always been switched off but we've always had hot water.

Thanks

Yeah, thats the one.

I don't mind having to turn the hot water on but for 2 years I've not had to touch it, it's just always been hot.

on the otherside of that valve should be the W M H marker.
it sounds like the valves been sticking and shouldn't be.

There is another black needle on the otherside and it looks like there should be a sticker but that is missing, which setting should it be on and in which order do they run from left to right.

If the valves have been sticking, would that explain the constant hot water.

Thanks

from the black lever on the end they willbe H M W.

hw only calling W.
hw/heating calling M.
heating only calling H.

yes if its been sticking and not fully shutting each port thats not called for.
