I am hoping someone might be able to help me as the wooden flooring in my kitchen is driving me mad. We had the entire ground floor area of our home laid with Oak Flooring. Everything has been fine for the past 4 months and now there is cracking noises coming from the kitchen area which is about 3.5m * 3m. I have put a spirit level on the hallway and dinning room which is level. However the kitchen which runs off both rooms in 6-7mm out. I assume the uneveness in the subfloor is causing the cracking sounds?

It was installed as a floating floor, and the T&G were glued. I now need to get the flooring up to level the sub floor but need to know the best way to do this without damaging the boards. I fear I may not be unable to prevent this.

I spoke to my neighbour who got me the flooring and he reckons he can not get hold of anymore. I have left over bits, but no leaflets or empty boxes to find out exactly what it was. However I do remember the boxes saying "Lawsons Quality Flooring" and had a blue or green background. I have search the internet and called a few places called Lawsons, but they have all said there wood is not boxed when sent out to suppliers.

Has anyone else coming across this type. Its 12cm wide?

Its driving me insane  , but could I get it matched anywhere else.

Thanks for any advice.

Paul.
