hi all
i have managed to aquire some vinly flooring which will look a bit funky in the downstairs cloakroom.
At the moment we have carpet layed on a concrete floor.
with the exception of behind the sink it looks pretty smooth.

I have checked on the clearance of the loo and the sink base and I am confident that i can fit the vinly under the china wear.
How ever i have been advised tolay some of that very thin foam underlay ( the type fitted under laminate)
is this correct or should i just lay the vinly on the concrete.
I dont really want to have to lay ply down as that will mean aving to cut the vinly.

which is the best (and easiest )option please

many thanks in advance

thanks

DO NOT lay foam underlay under the vinyl.

Either lay direct to the existing subfloor and accept any lumps and bumps, or screed the floor for a perfect finish.

The vinyl should be loose laid, needs fixing on the maximum of two adjacent sides if at all, and if you are using any type of adhesive make sure it's suitable for use with vinyl (anti-plas) as most adhesives will bleed and discolour vinyl.

You can of course seal all the skirting and sanitary areas with sealant, be prepared that it's possible for vinyls to expand a bit after fitting so you may need to trim excess off if bubbles appear (ususlly in the first 12 months)
