Lead cleaner

Hi can anyone recommend the best product to remove brown/orange stains from old lead, I have had some work done on my house and the roofer said painting it with black bitumen paint with it being so weathered any advice please?

I expect fine wirewool using patina oil as a lubricant and to stop dust would work, a coat of patina oil would protect it afterwards.
Disposable gloves and a mask would be a good precaution.
Up to you really bearing in mind the paranoia about lead these days.
