Not sure this if this is the right place, but it's a rendering job.

Prior to rendering, my plasterer got someone to replace the bay window leadwork that protects the lower window. Existing leadwork needed replacing. My concerns are that the overlap is only about half an inch and it's sealed with clear silicone which hasn't actually formed a proper seal. That seems insufficient to prevent water from running under the overlap and down inside. Pictures attached.

Another concern is, presumably, he's going to render (krend) over the lead he's screwed in to the cement board of the rebuilt bay. Is that the correct way to do it?

Any future flashing maintenance requires breaking out a large amount of render to remove the lead???

Thanks for any opinions.

Not a work of art.
I'm no expert on lead but I'd be putting another 'decorative' bit over the corner section to cover the joint, stuck down with some lead sealant.

He'll use a stop bead at the bottom of the render, this may be fixed at the top of the lead, leaving a bit exposed at the bottom. The lead will likely outlive the render anyway. Have they used any patination oil on it? Doesn't look like it, make sure they do that before rendering.

Whoever did that hadn't a clue
Not enough lap you don't use silicone as a bodge to seal lead.
Fixing back with odd screw different at least try copper nails.
Horrible finish to bottom edge (I won't say dressed) looks like it's designed to channel water in!

FKUC!! What a horrid display of bodgermanship. If that was my house they would be given the order of the boot and then some
Leadwork is an art and takes many years to perfect. Plumber = worker of lead, but today, unfortunately, a good plumber is becoming as rare as hen's teeth
