leaking chimney

Is there anything available which i could use to treat a leaking chimney. I have replaced the lead apron at the back of the chimney, but the chimney breast is still damp, i also repointed the chimney so i am assuming that the brick work is absorbing damp is that possible?any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi. A chimney DPC is the sure method but expensive on an existing chimney. There are products, transparent sealer best applied in dry conditions and a few coats that will give you result.
