Leaking Rad Valve

Planning on how I was going to put some fernox into the system and closed / opened this valve yesterday. Its now started to leak (slowly) from the middle ..

Its circa 15 years old and probably never been touched. I've just switched the heating on to see if the magic heat application helps.

On a related note, anyone know how this drain valve works ?!! .. Theres an obvious hose fitting but no way (that I can see) to open it.

The valve has RBM on the side, getting loads of search hits on that </sarcasm> .. seems to be a rather obscure manufacturer ..

Worked it out. The horizontal part has a nut part which can be un-done to release the water trough the hole.

Oh, and the water leak stopped after running the heating for a while ..

Plumbing and I don't get on .. Not sure I want to take on the fernox project now ..
