I have a new towel rail radiator but keep getting leaks when I install it. It comes with a threaded tail. I wrapped the tail in plenty of PTFE but have found I can't tighten it just keeps going up into the radiator. needless to say this leaks.

I then bought this tail

I also wrapped this in PTFE and was able to tighten it. However this also leaked slowly. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Anyone have any advice? Any other sealants worth using?

have a close look at the towel rail, i had one once i couldnt stop leaking no matter what i did, after a few attempts on closer inspection there was a hair line crack in the radiator (customer supplied cheap internet crap!)

Will double check the rad - I'm the king of cheap internet crap!

Thanks for the sealant tip, worth a try. Roughened thread? is that with a wire brush?

really appreciate the advice.
