Leaking shower tap

I've noticed that the shower tap has a reasonably quick leak (a constant drip); only when the tap has been opened and the shower is running.

I removed the tap and have highlighted in the photos where the leak is coming from.

As someone with little (no) plumbing experience could some tell me if this could be a relatively easy fix or should I get a plumber in? Thanks in advance any advice.

O ring seal(s) is gone in spindle.
Usually just the final O ring before the viewable spindle.
It might be possible to replace the O ring if an identical sized O ring could be sourced.
Might be best left for a plumber to do. Requires a suitable spanner to remove the cartridge.
Replacing the entire cartridge obviously the other alternative if you know the brand and model of shower, but could be expensive.
