Hi

We have a vokera excell 80 SP and it leaks a little when you run the hot water.
I have identified the leak is coming from what looks like a little button that a valve pushes in when the hot water is turned on (this valve is in the lower left area of the boiler as you look at it from the front). It drips slowly from this button until the hot water is turned off and the arms rescinds. We loose pressure from the radiators due to this and have to re-pressurise them every couple of days. What is this valve and how much would the repair cost??

Second question is, should we bother to repair? How old is our boiler? it was here when we moved in 2005 and we have no idea of its economy or age. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Gaz

the seal is cheap and easy to replace, but not the reason for you pressure drop, the boiler is around 12 yeas old and rated as a"D"

I think the boiler is sound but in need of service. The seal will cause system pressure to drop.
