So, you honestly think it's practical to be able to have 1000 people on a jury? Whether in person or remote, internet etc.

look at how many people view a youtube vid, or how many waste their lives reading your posts on here.... of course you'd get enough people a thousand times or more oversubscribed...

Yes, we know you can easily get 1000 people. How do you vet them? They may be friends of, or even enemies of the defendant. Or just have vested interests in his or her demise or acquittal. There are many other reasons why it's a stupid impractical idea. But these are good enough for me.

Cecil Rhodes lived in a different age, he died over 100 years ago. Whatever he meant when he said it does not necessarily equate to what is meant when it's quoted by somebody now.
But you will always see a racist slant in everything because you are a pc fanatic, every bit as close minded to persuasion as any other fanatic anywhere. Which is what led you to see a perfectly innocent post about the suffering of the Somali people as somehow being some kind of racist slur against africans.
I'm glad you were banned, hopefully you will be banned again tomorrow.

So 1000 people, and how do you vet them? well you don't..... you don't vet the 12 currently do you?

I think you will find that they do.

well i'm sorry... so vet the 1000 the same way !!!! after all it's someone's life we're talking about !!!

Be pragmatic Immy, how would you vet 1000 jurors? As you previously stated, you have never been on a jury, so you would not know the outcome of selection - unless your Dad told you :D

oh god... apparently they vet 12, so then vet 1000 ? it is for an important reason after all... not a parking ticket,!!!

Immy, with all due respects, you appear to have lost the plot and saying that, I'm outa here

it's simple, you have a process which vets a bank of people who are ready for each big trial.... and more are vetted in readiness for the next..

It's simple resoource management - no need for disbelief or insults !!!

But i have to say the 1000 number was pulled from the air to reflect my feeling about being sure about a serious criminal....

not that many on here are up for a "sensible" debate !!!

Put forward a sensible one then.
Rather than moaning on the header pages.

Ahh that old trick.
Given up on the insults now calling others drunk.

Your meds must be really doing your head in.
