Light coming in around chimmney breast. No water getting in!!! advice please

I was clearing out attic this morning and notice quit a bit of light getting in where the chimmney meets the roof. We have heavy rain alot yet none is getting in. How can this be?

Ive foamed it to stop snow blowing through although you don't need to.
 
Light can reflect around corners, so it may just be that the tiles are raised up a little from the flashings.

If you can actually see out, i.e. see the sky, then that is a concern. Otherwise maybe it is an issue, maybe not. If it's not leaking then probably not. You could tape some plain brown cardboard to the brickwork under it, see if it ends up stained.

Sealing it up probably isn't a good idea, you may end up trapping water against the timber and make it rot.
