can anyone tell me how to connect my two way switch up please !!we can turn it on and off downstairs but the upstairs wont work and if we switch it off downstairs and turn it on upstairs but then the downstairs wont work....sounds a bit confussing to me but hey help me my wife is going mad at me

although this may sound silly have you got two two way switches?

They should be wired as follows:

The common terminal (at the top) should have a yellow wire
L1 should be red
L2 should be blue
the other pair of wires you have should also go into L1 & L2

The colours are actually irelivant but when i learnt that was what we were told to always do. So long as each switch has the same colour at each end i.e. blue in L2 (in my case) and the other pair of cable go into L1 & L2 it will work.

But please turn the mains electricity off first.
