lime attack

Hi guys n dolls, new member so expect all the same question that newbies bring . Any way my problem stems from lime use, iv recently done a chimney using hydrated lime(lots of it) and with the weather being blustery i got it all over the place, after wasing it away its lookin like its done a number on my tarmac drive. Can lime do this or is it over zealous jetwashing? Cheers jimmy
