Hi, just a general question.

Take a concrete block outbuilding with two window openings close together. Is there any reason why one shouldn't use one long concrete lintel instead of two separate shorter ones as long as each end overhangs by at least 150mm?

I can't think of any weakness this would introduce especially if the space between the two windows is supported by further blocks.

Saves money too:)

Edit - would another option be to cut one larger lintel to create two smaller ones? As long as the integrity of the lintel isn't compromised. Just a thought
