Hi, hoping for some advice. I have been quoted to have my loft floor boarded, not using loft legs but batons, which I'm happy with. The builder mentioned he would use the roof rafters and one joist down the middle to support the new floor. This concerns me as I thought you shouldn't mess with the rafters as they support the roof, maybe I'm wrong? The joiner who quoted is from a well respected company in my area and seemed honest and professional. I'm just worried and wondered what others thought?
Thanks for any advice!
