I've been clearing out my loft prior to getting proper installation fitted... it's full of rubbish which is quite literally *covered* with bird poo. The previous owners of the flat had a new roof put in over 10 years ago, so it's all old guano, but the smell is still pretty bad. I spent a couple of hours up there earlier with an ill-fitting mask, but having read about the health implications (histoplasmosis, yikes!), I'm going to get a proper mask tomorrow and continue then... My questions are: 1) what is the best way to clean it up, and 2) how to neutralise the smell (ammonia, presumably)? Any suggestions gratefully received.
