We currently have 100mm of glass fibre insulation between the joists in our loft. Approx 1/2 the loft has 18mm chipboard floor over this insulation. There is 12.5mm silver backed plasterboard on the ceiling below. Joists are only 100mm deep and we have W-Fink truss's so WON'T be planning a loft conversion.
I want to put some more flooring down to tidy up the loft space, what could I put under the floorboards instead of the old glassfibre insulation to give me a better U value?
I am not going to be storing particularly heavy items so I don't want to install new rafters at 90 degrees to give more insulation space.
