loud bang when igniting

glow worm fuelsaver 50b mk11[very old]
mini explosion or very loud bang when igniting.
gas seems to come through to long when turned on before igniting.
can it be repaired[are parts obsolete] or is a new boiler needed?

Get it serviced poperly, your pilot flame is low and not igniting the burner correctly.

Old but very good boiler ....service should do it

As far as I know all parts are still available, though some are a bit pricy. They are quite forgiving when it comes to forgetting the service. Manual says once a year if I am not mistaken
